The Secure Handshake System
To prevent fraud and guarantee fairness, awaKart uses a 4-digit Secure PIN system to log physical on-campus deliveries. No more "he said, she said" arguments.
How the Secure PIN Works
1. Buyer Gets a PIN
The moment an order is placed, a unique, encrypted 4-digit Delivery PIN is generated inside the buyer's order history.
2. Meet for hand-off
The vendor meets the buyer at a designated landmark to hand over the clothes, shoes, or electronics. The buyer inspects the item physically.
3. Vendor Inputs PIN
If satisfied, the buyer gives their PIN to the vendor. The vendor types it into their dashboard, unlocking the escrow holding timer instantly.
Buyer Golden Rules
- NEVER share your PIN via chat or call before seeing the item.
- Only hand over the PIN physically after you have verified the condition of your product.
- Once you give the PIN, you confirm that you have received the order.
Vendor Golden Rules
- ALWAYS ask the buyer for their code at the point of physical swap.
- Input the code immediately on your mobile browser before leaving the drop-off location.
- Do not leave your items with a buyer who refuses to provide a verification PIN.
What if a buyer forgets their phone or can't access their PIN?
If technical glitches or network issues block a student from grabbing their PIN during a delivery, the rider should take a clear snapshot photo of the product handover, while the buyer take a snap of the product received and both send a mail with the image attached and the Order ID to awaKart email.
